Aims for week:

• Introduce and practise the passives - past and present tenses
• Develop fluency through speaking/communicative activities, with special attention to asking questions
• Revise 'do, be, have' and question forms
• Future forms 'going to, will' and present continuous reviewed
• Vocabulary topics - personalities, families, places, prepositions of movement, physical world, weather
• Reading skill sessions for skimming and scanning
• Listening skills using video
• Practise giving and receiving directions, agreeing and disagreeing
• Writing - informal letter
• Correction of pronunciation and mini-practices as appropriate  

Monday

• Speaking - asking questions about our weekends
• Passives - presentation, grammar auction, transitions, speaking activities
• Speaking - asking opinions  

Tuesday (am)

• Recycle present and past simple passive
• 'Do, be, have' - present and past simple versus continuous
• Speaking/vocabulary - character questionnaire, adjectives
• Listening/speaking - brothers and sisters
• Fluency - crosswords

Tuesday (PM)

• Agreeing and disagreeing - 'So do I, Neither do I, I don't, I haven't, etc., I'm sorry, I'm afraid, I see your point... but etc.,'
• Fluency/vocabulary - food, entertaining, at home  

Wednesday

• Future forms - 'going to, will/present continuous
• Reading and speaking - 'The Man who Planted Trees'
• Writing - sentence combination
• Vocabulary - adjectives describing places and people
• Writing - informal letter about a language school study visit  

Thursday

• Passive - group quiz
• Passive - reading for process
• Speaking - giving instructions
• Directions - functional English, listening
• Vocabulary - prepositions of movement
• Speaking - game activity  

Friday

• Life in Britain - the weather, Stonehenge (video), listening and speaking
• Question tags
• Practise intonation with above
• Physical world - vocabulary
• Fluency activity - nationalities (and vocabulary)
